Wide disparities within the country can render such representation meaningless. But as World Bank economist Branko Milanovic writes , "now that human capital is scarcer than machines, widespread education has become the secret to growth."

He says it doesn’t recognise people’s level of education, their years of experience, their sector of employment, monetary compensation to different jobs, regional difference, etc. To develop a strong economic recovery and avoid another decade of stagnant income, we need a more equal distribution of income that would promote the strong consumption spending required for full employment. Therefore it is used as an indication of income inequality within countries.

In 1921, Alice Paul who is known for being one of the leading figures responsible for the passage of the 19th amendment to the U.

Both educational variables considered in the analysis have tended to increase across all regions, but with considerable cross-country variation. Indeed, the world is ruled by little else. As to the concentration of power, legal developments (the Supreme Court’s decisions in the Citizens United and McCutcheon cases, in particular) have allowed virtually unlimited and often hidden expenditures in elections by wealthy individuals and corporations—as if their expenditures had not already been too large.

What if we let people get rich by starting startups, but taxed away all other surplus wealth? If you read The Gospel and Economic Justice you already know that economic justice is important to God and important to the gospel of Jesus. It usually starts out low and peaks when they reach ‘mid-life’. I find myself returning to the gut-level feeling expressed at the start of this series: I do not wish to live in a banana republic.
